Farouk Khailann is an African Entrepreneur with a strong commitment to Africa’s economic growth. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Premium Africa Holdings.

​

Premium Africa Holdings is an Africa focused investment holding company with assets and projects in Ghana, Liberia, Gambia and Sierra Leone. The company operates in the areas of construction, ICT, mining, agribusiness, fintech, real estate, energy and investment consultancy.

​

In March 2019, Farouk Khailann established it presence in UAE as consultants to various individuals and organizations in facilitating trade and investment between UAE and Africa. Farouk Khailann is Managing Partner of American music star Akon for his Akon Lighting Africa project.

​

Farouk is a Venture Partner at Erez Capital, a venture capital firm at the forefront of the AI and machine learning revolution. With an impressive, combine fund size and experience of venture partners (Assets Under Management +$800 billion, Mergers & Acquisitions +$500 billion and Current Assets Under Management +$20 billion), Erez Capital, is committed to accelerating innovation and breakthrough technologies.

He holds a number of international appointments. he is Executive Vice Chairman of Turkey Africa Trade and Investment Council. Strategic Advisor at the Private Office of H.H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al-Qassimi, International Partner of the World Angel Business Investment Forum, Founding Director of the Global Wealth Forum, Africa President of Asia CEO Community, Advisory Board Member at the University of Embu, Kenya and Vice Chairman of African Institute of Small-Scale Mining.

Farouk currently works closely with offices of five African presidents on various interventions geared towards the economic transformation of their respective countries.

​

Farouk was awarded African Business Leader of the year at the 28th edition of World HRD Awards in India on 15th February 2020. He was named among other young enterprising Ghanaian entrepreneurs as Top 50 Young CEOs for 2020. Farouk Khailann was decorated as a Pan African Business Icon of the year at the 2020 edition of Ghana Youth Excellence Awards.

Farouk Khailann was awarded the Order of the Noble Hand of Honor by the Pan African Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Centre in September 2019, alongside the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia and other global leaders. Farouk Khailann was also adjudged the best consultant for 2019 at the 40 under 40 awards, one of Ghana’s most competitive award schemes.

Her extensive background as the previous Director of Marketing, Sales & Events at the Durban International Convention Centre, with a proven track record of over 31 years of experience in major global business events like United Nations, APEC, and BRICS level events has fuelled her with a relentless passion in the industry to drive MITEC to a more sustainable and innovative future.


Mala who reins from South Africa promotes the empowerment of women by standing with the life philosophy of “Be the change you want to see in the World” and “Think Global, Act Local” which is to lead by example while showing kindness and compassion.

An urban infrastructure sustainability  manager and development planner with experience across the following: climate change and sustainability, urban planning, infrastructure policy and strategy, regulatory and compliance management, programme and project management, public sector restructuring and financing, Worked at the Development Bank of Southern Africa for 9 years in the urban development sector. Seconded to the Reconstruction and Development Program in the Office of  President Nelson Mandela in 1995 to 1997. Appointed Director of Planning in the City of Joburg.  Led the corporatisation of public utilities such as power, water, waste, roads, fleet and transport and smaller entities like parks, zoos, theatre and cemeteries and urban planning and policy making. Focus on business planning, capital investment programmes and performance management of the capital works programme. Worked for the German Development Corporation as senior development advisor on financing climate change development programmes in the renewables, energy efficiency, waste and transport fields. 

​

Strong problem solving and analysis for water, energy, fleet, transport and waste sectors. Responsible for research, infrastructure co-ordination and local government development application and contribution planning processes. Made presentations on financing urban infrastructure at the United Nations and World Economic Forum in India in 2008 and 2004. Supported the World Bank on local government restructuring initiatives in India. Was part of the African partnership team which provided local government support to Addis Ababa with respect to infrastructure policy and planning. 

​

A psychology graduate and geography post graduate with short courses in urban planning and strategy at Harvard University and executive development programmes at Gordon Institute of Business School, Pretoria University. 

​

Currently living in Sydney, Australia and employed as Manager: Sustainable Government in the Office of Energy and Climate Change of New South Wales State government. Responsible for enabling the transition of government agencies towards decarbonisation and sustainability outcomes.
