Kanchana Moodliar is a visionary entrepreneur and community leader who is passionate about driving innovation and empowering local founders in Africa who are solving African problems with new business models, fresh thinking, collaboration and tech. With over 2 decades of experience, Kanchana has built a reputation as a skilled global strategist and business humanizer.
She is the founder and CEO of Nova Ideation, a new African innovation hub, which serves as a platform for conscious entrepreneurs to access resources, mentorship, and investment from both local and international investor communities.
Kanchana is also a serial entrepreneur and is the co-founder of Beauty Revolution and Neohance, both groundbreaking businesses that are purpose driven, high growth potential, tech lead businesses.
Her leadership and vision earned her recognition as a Mail and Guardian Top 200 Young South African early on in her career and she continued to be widely respected for her contributions to business and civil society.
Kanchana is a certified yoga instructor, avid meditator and has a deep love for discussions on wellbeing, philosophy and the existential questions humans are pondering.
Dr Anuschka Coovadia is a founder of Usizo Advisory Services, which is an independent advisory firm, which specialises in Strategy, Market Research, Investments, Product Design, Organisational Transformations and Wellness Training. She is an experienced, skilled, dedicated healthcare consultant with medical, health economic and actuarial training.
Dr Coovadia started her career in clinical services in the Department of Health in Kwazulu-Natal, where she developed a passion for health systems strengthening. Thereafter she pursued a unique path, which expanded across multiple verticals of the healthcare system, including healthcare and social development, clinical research, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, health insurance, clinics, health technology, private equity investments, pharmacy retail and strategic healthcare consulting. She has deep experience in all of the critical aspects of the healthcare system – policy, patient, payer and provider services.
Dr Coovadia was the Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences for Africa at KPMG for 10 years, during which time she was a member of a global team which led over 23 projects, related to Universal Health Coverage, across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Prior to this, she worked in the health insurance sector, for Momentum Metropolitan; the pharmaceutical sector, for Novartis; and the research sector for the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) on a Rockefeller Foundation project, related to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs).
Dr Coovadia is currently a Non-executive director at Dischem, a non-executive director for the Dawi clinics group in Egypt, a member of the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research (CAPRISA) Investment Committee, a member of the Durban Girls’ College board, the Chair of the Kendra Business Forum; and a board member of the Kendra, St Johns DSG and Vula Mobile. In addition, she is an IFC Nominee Director and consultant for the IFC and World Bank, as well as a strategic advisor to KPMG, GEMS and PPS. In 2020, Dr Coovadia was the recipient of the Galleon Old Girls’ Award from Durban Girls College, to recognise the
honour she has brought to her school, by her service to the community.
Her passion and life’s commitment is to support the strengthening of healthcare systems in across the African Continent, in order to alleviate suffering, increase access, improve affordability and deliver better patient care.
Kamille Marchant is a results-driven events director with over 16 years experience in planning and executing successful events in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, The Netherlands, Singapore & France. With experience both agency and client-side she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise having worked with some of the biggest and most creative brands such as Meta, TikTok, The Economist, MBC, Nakheel, GE, Snapchat, BMW.
Having been involved at all levels of the project management process from concept, to business development, to strategy and implementation, she is able to provide innovative solutions to disrupt the status-quo and create unforgettable experiences for her clients.
When not orchestrating events, Kamille enjoys exploring the latest event trends, attending industry conferences, and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies in event management.
